The beauty of Tuscany lies as much in its landscapes as in its history, its traditions, and in the building practices that have been established over the centuries.
At Domus Toscana we firmly believe this and it is for this reason that we strive to preserve and keep alive local building techniques, using local and sustainable materials that are typical of the Tuscan tradition.
Traditional Tuscan features include floors made out of handmade terracotta bricks – in the typical Sienese style, the use of solid chestnut timber from Mount Amiata for roof frameworks, as well as that of natural stone such as Travertine – in its many hues, Pietra Serena and Trachyte, for wall cladding, flooring or just as building stone.
History has inextricably linked each and every of the aforementioned building materials to a specific building technique, and it is up to us today to preserve and treasure them.
Domus Toscana takes on this legacy and makes it the cornerstone of its design.
